FREE WHEELS
Free Wheels is a type of clutches we manufacture with two cylindrical raceways, between which we place a metallic cage with shaped elements that engage on the raceways in one rotation direction, but remain free in the other, allowing the rotation.
APPLICATIONS
- As a non-return element. For this application, one of the raceways needs to remain fixed, so it allows the rotation of the mechanism in one direction only. Typical uses are: belt conveyors, bucket conveyors, reducers, engines, cable cars, etc.
- As an intermittent advance unit: Through indexings, it transforms a circular movement into a linear one in one direction. Typical applications include: textile machinery feeds, printing, packaging and packing, wire transformation, press feeds, ovens, agricultural equipment, etc.
- As an automatic clutch: It enables by overrunning the automatic shutdown of two transmissions turning at different speeds, or avoiding the influence of inertia masses in installation shutdowns. Common applications are: Combustion engine starting using electrical engines, turbines, generators, blowers, slow and fast advances in any type of machinery, fan shutdown, etc.
In our catalogue, there are 15 series of different types of Free Wheels with torques up to 45,000 Nm. Our company can also evaluate and provide at short time the size that bestly adapts to your design or needed replacement .
TORQUE LIMITERS
All types of machinery and installations have Torque Limiters to protect staff, machine own elements and the products being produced from a blockage or overload.
This reflects in a human and economic benefit, reducing downtimes, repairs, product rejects and a better automatization in production.
We manufacture automatic shutdown ball Torque Limiters and friction Torque Limiters.
We have built elements with limitation fields from 0.1 to 120,000 Nm.
In our catalogue there are different types and sizes, as well as some specially developed Torque Limiters of the numerous ones we have made for our customers´ requirements. Some were real technological challenges which have encouraged our technological advance, which is proved in the several patents we hold.
BIDIRECTIONAL CLUTCH IR
These elements are primarily used in two applications:
- Operating a motorised or manual axle in both rotation directions, remaining the axle blocked when it stops acting upon it, which prevents any movement from the exit side.
- Operating an axle with an engine, keeping the option of having another output for manual operation.
In our catalogue we have 10 sizes, although we have designed with shaped elements, clutches with a retention torque of 25,000 Nm.

CENTRIFUGAL AND PARACHUTE SAFETY BRAKES
These brakes are exclusively mechanical, designed to prevent accidents caused by the malfunctioning of the motor brake or transmission failures.
Frenos centrífugos
Los frenos centrífugos permiten un descenso controlado en ausencia de motorización y en caso de avería del freno de bloqueo. No permiten la aceleración descontrolada de la carga y el previsible accidente pasa a ser una solo una incidencia. Evidentemente tanto el freno de bloqueo como el centrífugo no pueden evitar el accidente si la anomalía se produce en el reductor o cualquier elemento posterior a ellos. Si el freno centrífugo se monta mediante una transmisión independiente, este se comporta como seguridad final, ya que su actuación será independiente de si una avería o rotura a inutilizado el freno de bloqueo o el reductor.
Sistemas paracaidas
El sistema de seguridad paracaídas es una unidad mecánica destinada a evitar la caída accidental en mecanismos elevadores motorizados por piñón y cremallera.
El sistema solo actúa cuando la velocidad de descenso es superior a un valor determinado previamente. Los elementos sensores actúan por acción de la fuerza centrífuga y enclavan el piñón seguidor contra la estructura. El enclavamiento se produce de forma amortiguada quedando la plataforma inmovilizada una vez frenada.

This new line includes two sizes and its peculiarity is that some components are made of a techno-polymer having very high mechanical features.
Having a structure quite similar to full metal screw jacks, Aleph series screw jacks have the same loads handling functions and also maintain the same IRREVERSIBILITY features.
The particular molding system of gears and the peculiarity of the polyarikannide material employed, allow it to operate even without lubrication.
Aleph screw jacks can work singularly or in groups connected by means of joints, shafts and bevel gearboxes.

The K series screw jacks are suitables for high services as well as for a very rapid, quick and precise positioning. From the beginning UNIMEC has been able to supply its products in stainless steel for its customers. Anyway, realizing those components meant long manufacturing times. For the most requested products and sizes UNIMEC is now able to propose a complete series: the X series.
This choice gives multiple advantages: on the one hand a shortening of the delivery times as the components are all available on stock, on the other hand the manufacturing allows to obtain quite interesting costs, because it starts from the row casted pieces.
